Dealing with humidity
For wet areas such as changing rooms and swimming pools, Formica® Compact Grade laminate is the practical answer.
With no bonding to substrates (in thicknesses of 6mm and above), Compact Laminate is unaffected by high levels of humidity, making it ideal for clean, hygienic and attractive locker rooms or washrooms.
The solid core is faced with designs from our Plain Colours, Patterns or Woodgrains ranges. Formica Compact is available in thicknesses from 2mm to 20mm. Its free-standing strength makes for dependable high-quality cubicles and lockers.
Solid Surfacing by Formica®, with its integrated range of Sinks and Bowls, is another top class product for these conditions. For showers, washrooms and bathrooms, our smooth-finished Formica Shower Panel™ is far easier to install, clean and upgrade than are conventional tiles. The public face
Formica products help you to create a warm and friendly welcome to visitors. Service positions and reception areas look good, and stand up to intensive use, when surfaced in laminate. You can enhance such focal points with Formica-faced display units, shelving and loose furnishings.
Compact laminate, and through-colour ColorCore® by Formica®, have particular value for front-of-house applications. And to make your own identity distinctive, with our Bespoke Service we can create in laminate signage, logos and branding to your own designs.
Storage and maintenance
Sporting and leisure facilities require substantial behind-the-scenes storage, cleaning and maintenance provision which, though out of sight to visitors, is vital to the smooth running of the service they receive. The strength and cleanliness of laminate cupboards, shelves and partitioning go a long way to help your staff do a good job in pleasant conditions. Keeping up appearances
Laminate wall panels, linings and doors are an excellent solution to the surfacing of busy corridors, passageways, stairs and lifts, especially when these are in use for much of the day.
Because these products handle impact and abrasion so well, they garner little dirt and, when they do need cleaning, can be dealt with quickly and easily. In the rare event of serious damage, replacement is relatively easy, and the minimal colour fade of laminate in interior applications means that a consistent appearance is retained.

Strong and fit for purpose
Public facilities such as sports halls, leisure centres, gymnasia, swimming pools and spas demand a lot from the surfacing materials used for interior applications.
Less energetically-used leisure contexts - libraries, visitor centres, theme parks, cinemas, theatres, casinos, clubs, for example - have their own special requirements.
All are heavily-used interiors where surfaces have to be impact resistant and easy to maintain.
Formica® materials provide the hard wearing finish required in these testing contexts.
Visually appropriate
But endurance is not achieved at the cost of style and aesthetic appeal. The variety in our laminate ranges ensures that, whether you are after a bright, healthy and stimulating effect, or are creating a soft and restful décor, you can find the designs that you need.
